I tend to get into a groove — that’s a groove, not a rut! — with something when I take pictures, so for a while I’ll take a lot of water pics, then I’ll move on to dragonflies, then day lilies, etc. Last July I spent several photo outings snapping dew drops.
The photo above is from the wetlands, and it’s backlit cattail leaves. The one below is from the same place, and it’s budding leaves from a wild rose bush.

The rest of the pictures are from the yucca plants in my back yard. (A photo outing I could take in my pajamas!) The challenge here was to find a solid or blurry enough background that would highlight the water droplets. When I looked through the photos, I was also amused to see reflections of my messy patio in some of the drops. The first photo below showcases the bright orange buckets from Menards that I’d been using for herbs, for example.
