Campus Revisit

I took a tour of campus several weeks after classes went online, and the overgrown grounds had a aura of desolation. The grounds crew has been hard at work for a while now, however, and the landscape is once again shining for the few students and staff on site. The irises are fading gracefully, the daylilies are beginning to burst, and the bees are feasting. Hopefully we’ll all be able to enjoy the scenery in person in the fall.

Iris ruffle.
Iris bud.
The crest of this iris is like a grand dame peeking through a window lined with ruffled curtains.
I’m not sure what these are, but the light caught my eye.
Daylily with a small visitor.
I don’t usually do black and white photography, but it seemed fitting with this high contrast backlit scene.
Hopefully the bees are finding this time beneficial.
